If you are somebody who loves all things designer but either cannot afford to buy designer labels or do not want to spend so much money on certain pieces but really desire the designer look, then I’ve got your back. Let me introduce to you my ‘Get the look for less’ series which is going to be a regular feature on my blog and Youtube channel!

I love hunting the high street for those pieces that are not complete replicas, but simply inspired by what we see on the catwalks. I have become pretty good at picking these up and incorporating them into my wardrobe to get the designer look for less, and thought it was about time I shared this with you guys!

If you are not someone who keeps an eye on designers at fashion week and need a bit of a fashion update on what’s hot, then these posts may also be very handy for you! I am going to try and collect the best the high street has to offer and let you guys in on my secrets! My Get The Look For Less posts will be much more focused on the clothing as I feel so many bloggers do this type of post on bags and shoes; but I am all about designer clothes dupes as well!

So I thought I would kick start this series with the most established, iconic and timeless designer, the designer that every fashion innovator lusts over and wants a bit of. And of course, that is Chanel.

Chanel for me is the designer that offers that super classic, feminine style time after time. Of course their iconic and signature style is that of the infamous tweed separates, from fitted skirts, to cropped, collarless jackets. Every season Chanel remembers its heritage and flaunts a new take on this classic style.

    Chanel SS17

For AW17 the designs took a very futuristic turn with space at the forefront of the brands designs; showing how Chanel can also be a fun label. Showcased were lots of stand-away collars, metallics and glittered boots, hosiery and fur trimmings for an almost frosted feel. Wide fitted, knee-length, space-like boots and long overcoats were key to most looks.

In today’s post my outfit is focused on that traditional feel of Chanel, with the classic two piece suit. The high street is brimming with tweed separates completely inspired by Chanel and when I saw this suit in H&M I knew I had to have it. The set isn’t particularly ‘on-trend’, or a trend that everyone is wearing but it is so reminiscent of Chanel’s signature look which makes it a real investment set that can stay in my wardrobe forever. This style is a re-occurring look on the Chanel catwalk year after year so I can always opt for it. The quality of the set is really good for the money and I love the flecks of multi-coloured tweed on the black.

For me this two-piece is super versatile, I can wear it in the day time like I have today with some black ankle boots and when it gets colder black tights will look fine with it too for a bit of warmth! I can add a black chunky knit and tailored coat to complete the look, and then it is also the perfect option for evening wear. Teaming this set with some dainty barely-there heels, a petite handbag and some pretty gold jewellery, would look so nice for dinner or drinks. The set is so sophisticated in style and I adore it! I wore my little brown suede bag which is a great little dupe for the new Chloe bags, so yes there will be a Chloe Get The Look For Less coming in the future.

I have listed 30 products from the high street below this post that are also inspired by that classic Chanel feel for you to get the look for less too. Zara are leading the way with this style right now, along with Warehouse, H&M and also Matalan have some sneaky items!

I will be continuing this ‘Get the look for less’ series on my Youtube channel very soon, where I will show you how to get the classic Chanel look and then also replicate some outfits from the AW17 show. I will also talk you through my favourite Chanel inspired items on the high street you can buy right now and that are on my wishlist. So if you liked this post then head over to my Youtube channel and hit the subscribe button to see when this goes live! I also have Dolce and Gabbana on my mind for the second designer as I am obsessed with everything that label is doing right now.

And guys also before you go, I am also going to introduce a new page to my blog called ‘Shop Designer Dupes’ and every time I feature a new ‘Get The Look For Less’ post or video I will add that designer to this page and continue to update it with high street designer dupes for the label over the year. So Chanel has now been added!

    Thanks guys!
