    I love to dress up.

It is the nicest feeling to put on a beautiful outfit and make an extra effort with your hair and make-up to enhance the enjoyment of an evening you have been looking forward to.

But I don’t do it enough.

I spend endless evenings with my boyfriend, trying to create an outfit for a nice meal out, from the clothes I wear day to day. Just adding a pair of barely-there heels and jewellery to my usual skirt and blouse combo is usually my idea of evening attire.

We all do it, stroll back home from your nice evening out to a bed strewn with half of the contents of your wardrobe, with hangers on the floor and a whole lot of disarray in the air.

Although I usually put together some lovely looks, it’s just not the same as sliding into a special outfit that you feel ultra-beautiful in.

Dressing well makes you feel amazing, your confidence is high, your mood is elevated and it’s a chance to show off your individual style.

It has been on my mind that I need to invest more into my evening wear.

And with the social seasons upon us, I think it is time!

A curation of evening wear I know I can pull out, feel amazing in and wear time and time again without getting bored is the goal.

And I am sure while reading this, you are probably thinking that you could do with this too!

I fell upon this truly beautiful navy jumpsuit from Self-Portrait to be the first in my new collection and it was just what I have been looking for! Self Portrait offer really special but still pretty accessible designer pieces. I would recommend this stunning designer if you are just branching out into more higher end pieces.

I purchased this jumpsuit from Net-A-Porter, in the sale and got it for less than half price. So although I am looking to invest in evening wear, you can still be savvy with your spending.

In true resonance to the brand, the jumpsuit has cut-out fabric is in a stunning broderie anglais and a large cut out area to the front which is really flattering and perfect for the evening. The tie-up shoulders are a really gorgeous, stand out detail along with the pretty lace trims and the guipure finishes.

You can wear this with the shoulders up, or opt to wear them down for a more sassy look which I love!

I have adored Self Portrait for a while now and have my eye on a few more special evening outfits.

You really do pay for the details with designer and I chose to opt for this as it is pretty timeless but still intricate and interesting. It’s not a classic piece, as it has its own individual style details but it doesn’t incorporate a current trend, so I can wear this for a long time to come.

I feel amazing in this jumpsuit and am going to try it with a white blouse underneath and boots for a more dressy day-time look. I will post an outfit if it looks how I imagine!

If you are looking to buy a jumpsuit from Self Portrait, their sizing is pretty small. I am usually a size 6 and had to return my first order for a size 8, so I definitely recommend going up a size.
