Spring Summer Styling With Next

Shirt: Next

Do you always shop at the same places?

Do you know what stores you like, which ones cater to your personal style, the stores you can walk into and always end up spending? Well I too have always been the same. Until now!

Over Easter I set myself a little challenge to diverge from my normal high street shopping route and venture into unknown territory to see what I could find! I am running a little series where for the next few posts I will be styling an outfit from different stores that I would not normally buy from. The one rule is that the outfits must be in keeping with my personal style, and I am so excited to share them with you because this experience has really opened up my eyes!

I am kick starting today with my most exciting find; this brand has now worked its way into my top five high street stores, having previously been somewhere I have never shopped in my life! What a result! The store I am talking about and styling in today's post is......Next!

Next for SS17 is something you should get excited about!

So my personal style is very much tailored, but I try to remain quite youthful with a bit of edge to my outfits. Next really feeds into this style and when I walked into their brand new store in Lakeside shopping centre, I could have purchased their whole tailoring line!

The collection is very much, clean lines; sophisticated silhouettes; classic colours; pretty prints and subtle takes on trends. I am completely obsessed with their tailored trousers at the moment, which have a modern feel to the classic styles. Their trench game is on point; they even have a mini cropped version which I have not seen elsewhere and a great selection of shirts for any girls like me whose outfits are always completed with a classic shirt.

Spring summer styling with Next is so easy as the store is brimming with smart basics and has those cool pieces thrown in too, making it very simple to put together a mini capsule wardrobe for spring.

Next is one of those stores where you feel really chic when trying on pieces, it gives you that luxury look at an affordable price. I have always thought that Next caters to the more mature woman, but they definitely satisfy the younger market as well!

The area creating the biggest buzz at the moment for Next is their footwear department which is so dreamy! They really have an amazing selection of shoes which look high end but again are affordable. Next footwear has that slightly exclusive feel because they feature lots of bold designs that look like they could have been taken straight off the runway.

Spring for me this season is going to be about teaming simple tailored outfits with statement shoes. In today's post I have on a casual fit chambray shirt which is light and airy for spring. I have rolled up the sleeves slightly and tucked it into some cropped, white tailored trousers. Then to finish off what would be a very fresh, simple outfit, I have put on these red pointed court heels with the frill detailing. The pop of colour really finished off the look and I am all about statement shoes right now. This is are so elegancy and pretty, not to mention that red is the colour of the season.

My advice for shopping at Next is definitely to go into store and grab a load of pieces to try on and see what you like. This is because, for me the website is a little chaotic unless you are just after footwear and also the styling online can be a little off putting to the younger market I feel. Go in store in a pair of your favourite jeans to pair with tops, also take a classic white shirt to the fitting room to wear with any bottoms you are trying on.

So the first post of this mini series has ended in complete success. I have created a look which is so in keeping with my style, I have found a new favourite place to shop and a new place to rave on about on my blog and social media for you guys! Let’s see what the next post brings!

See below a few more pieces I am obsessed with from Next!
